"Also, all appointments in the Council and quota at the state and Federal levels should be equitably distributed between the Ijaws and the Itsekiris."

The Egbema people lamented that the Ijaws of Egbema Kingdom has 36 staff out of the total strength of about 726.

According to them,"This is miserable and unfortunate, as it's unacceptable. We are people with Four (4) Federal Wards as against the Itsekiri Six ( 6)."

Speaking on behalf of the people during a peaceful protest,Hon. Joel Bisina, leader Of Thought and former Commissioner for Special Duties,Hon. Dickson Asoki, Pioneer Councillor, Warri North Council, Barr. Robinson Esite, Barr. Ugha Kuruma President Egbema Justice and Equity Forum, Mr. Bekesuode Francis Abulu,
Secretary Egbema Justice and Equity Forum respectively, viewed the alleged imposition of the Chairmanship candidate on them as," An endorsement of the continuation of the '26 Years political marginalization of the people."

They say the alleged imposition of candidate on them was contrary to the spirit of power rotation which has been in place since 1999.

"The impact of this decision to deny us once again, is to extend the political subjudication of the Egbema Ijaws for another 3 years for a total period of '29 Years! This is a very oppressive decision."

Whiling noting that they've held series of meetings with the former Governor, His Excellency Dr. Uduaghan and there was no agreement before this unilateral decision, the aggrieved Egbema people also appealed to Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa and his immediate past Predecessor,Dr. Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan as beneficiaries of power rotation in the State to do justice for the sake of posterity.

The Chief of Staff Delta State, Government House, Hon. Tam Brisibe who received the protesters assured them Of Okowa's readiness to address their demands.
