We will soon tell Nigerians names of all suspected looters - Federal government

The federal government has promised to make public, names of suspected looters across the country.

 Attorney general of the federation, Abubakar Malami, said the president has directed all relevant agencies to compile documents on names of looters.


Malami said the president's directive is to promptly enforce judgment of a Federal High Court in Lagos which ordered the federal government to release these names.

While speaking at a meeting with a delegation from Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) in his Abuja office on Wednesday, October 18, Malami said the exact amount and information on all the suspected looters will be made available.

A statement released by SERAP's executive director, Adetokunbo Mumuni said the organization had a fruitful deliberation with the AGF.


Mumuni said: "Mr Malami informed us that President Buhari has directed the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Finance, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and other relevant agencies involved in the recovery of looted funds to promptly put the documents together with a view to fully and promptly enforcing the judgment by Justice Shagari."
