Drama As Robbers Invade Nasarawa Polytechnic Rector’s House…

Gyar confirmed this in a press conference on Friday, while debunking a report that the institution was generating N450m in a session.

He said, Last Saturday, some undefined gunmen invaded my residence in Akwanga Local Government Area and stole one of my cars.

Gyar also said that the school's IGR came from tuition fees.

On the controversy surrounding how much the school generates, he said, "We have never generated revenue in the polytechnic that is up to N450m. If 6,000 students pay an average of N17, 000 each. When you do the multiplication, it will give you N120m.

If 6,000 students pay N2, 500 each as tuition, the first N2, 000 will give you about N12m and the balance will give you N6m. This will amount to N18m as tuition for the polytechnic.

We have over 7,000 students. When you use the number of the students to calculate the amount being paid every semester, you have N120m.

"Other charges are to take care of their examinations, medical bills, games, identity cards, and others.

He explained that the polytechnic spent an average of N38m on booklets, stationery, refreshments and other allowances to conduct examinations every session.

On the suspension of workers, he said that the management of the polytechnic did not suspend any of its employees for revealing the figure generated as IGR.

He, therefore, warned the lecturers of the polytechnic to always mind their business, saying they had no business with how the school was being managed by its authorities.
